Yesterday 30th November, an interview was granted to Garba Shehu who is the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari on BBC over the Zabarmari massacre. In the course of the interview, he said that the victims shouldn’t have gone to the rice farm without clearance from military officials.
Due to this Social media users have been dragging him for saying so.
To clear the cloud surrounding the issue, he said that the state of Borno is essentially a military zone till now, and in the midst of the things done they are still under the supervision of military officials.
He noted that he was only trying to explain to avoid future occurrence. He emphasized his sympathy for the victims that were killed and was not blaming them at all.
