“We Can’t return to classes on empty stomach”, ASUU

State Government should not establish Universities they cannot fund

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) meeting with the FG on the lingering ASUU Strike came to naught.

Aniekan Brown, ASUU coordinator in the South-South region has said that members of the union cannot return to classes in empty stomach. He as well said that some members haven’t been paid, ranging from four to nine months.

He further stressed that the Federal government should adopt the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) as the option, against the federal government Integrative Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS).

He said IPPIS isn’t suitable for the University system. He noted that the State Government should not establish Universities they cannot fund.
