Ugandan Government Shuts Down Internet, Denies Journalist From Covering Election

Following the Ugandan presidential election coming up tomorrow, President Yoweri Museveni had shut down the internet in the country, staying he doesn’t want any interference during the course of the election.

According to Bobi Wine, who is the opposition candidate, the internet had been slowed down and some services have been disrupted. He said most people cannot download the voting application.

President Museveni who had been ruling the country for 35 years and still want to contest again had also denied international journalist from coming to the country to cover the election.

Bobi wine had said that international journalists have been denied visas of accreditation to come to Uganda and cover the election. Presently the hashtag #WeAreRemovingADictator Is trending so fast on Twitter as Nigerians also support the movement to remove Museveni as president in tomorrow’s election.
