Twitter Is A Source Of Livelihood, Reverse Twitter Ban – Makinde Tells FG

Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has appealed to the Federal Government to reverse the Twitter ban.

According to the Governor, “As leaders, we should go beyond emotional reactions to issues and think about how our actions will affect the people we lead and our international rating socially and economically.”

He also stated that, “Twitter has become the platform for young people and indeed all Nigerians to to exercise the fundamental right to express and publish an opinion. They use the platform to complain, argue and give feedback to the government and its agencies who In turn use them to improve policies.”

He further stressed that, “Twitter has become a source of livelihood for many, irrespective of their political affliation or religious learning. Nigerian youths and digital communication organization earn a living from being able to use the platform to post communications on behalf of their clients.”

Makinde disclosed that, “others who may not have physical stores also rely on Twitter to give visibility to their products and services.”

The Governor further appealed to the Federal Government, to reverse the suspension for the greater goods of Nigerians.
