Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has backed his countryman and Chelsea forward, Timo Werner to score goals aplenty for the Blues.
Tuchel while hailing Werner’s contribution in a 2-1 win at Bramall Lane on Sunday night expressed confidence that the German international would soon put an end to his goal drought.
Werner set up Mount’s opener and later won the decisive penalty that was converted by Jorginho, as Chelsea move closer to Liverpool on the log.
But despite lack of goals, Tuchel feels Werner is gradually gaining his confidence following his performance against the Blades.
“When he plays like this we are very happy, this was a big step forward. The first goal was an amazing run and amazing assist. The goals will come” said Tuchel.
Werner also noted that he’s happy he’s been of help for the Blues since the appointment of Tuchel and he looks forward to scoring goals.
“For myself, again no goal but it is good to see I can help the team with other things,”
Chelsea are now breathing down Liverpool’s necks for a place in next season’s Champions League with a third win in Tuchel’s four games in charge.
