They said women should be respected, heard, understood, and above all given equal opportunity but what they forget to say was not all women. I write as an observer with or without a skewed idea but I can see through the cloud.
Judge Amy Coney Barrett has been questioned for four days consecutively by the US house judiciary committee members. It’s essential to note that both Republicans and Democrats continuously drilled her with few breaks in between.
She sat gracefully with a blank notebook while been bashed left and right from mostly democrats who pressed her to commit on some hot button issues like abortion, including Roe v. Wade, health care, and a possible disputed-election fight over transferring presidential power.
She responded to the questions with poise without referring to any note or book. Now if that is not impressive for a professor, a judge, and a mother of 7 then something is unquestionably wrong with us. Democrats are not respecting her as a woman simply because she has a distinct view as an originalist and a textualist. But when do we respect women? is it only when they are liberal? or are conservative women not to be respected.
