The Lagos fire service supported by OK FOODS, a private organization were able to stop the fire.
Speaking at the scene of the explosion, acting coordinator (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye stated:
“We got the alert around 9.15 am. And because the entrance was blocked we had to re-route to get to this place. We got here at about 10.04 am. It was alleged that a trailer fully loaded with metal rods and a tanker carrying AGO were trying to outsmart each other on the road. So one of them hit the other on the side way so the head got seperated from the tanker”The Guardian TV
