A tanker conveying diesel exploded at Toyota bus stop along Oshodi-Apapa expressway at the early hours of yesterday.
Report from an eye witness revealed that two trucks, one being the tanker were struggling to outsmart each other on a lane. On the course of the struggle, the head of the tanker got separated before the fire ensued.
The Lagos fire service supported by OK FOODS, a private organization were able to stop the fire.

Speaking at the scene of the explosion, acting coordinator (NEMA), Ibrahim Farinloye stated:
“We got the alert around 9.15 am. And because the entrance was blocked we had to re-route to get to this place. We got here at about 10.04 am. It was alleged that a trailer fully loaded with metal rods and a tanker carrying AGO were trying to outsmart each other on the road. So one of them hit the other on the side way so the head got seperated from the tanker”
