Super Eagles Newly Invited Keeper Contracts Covid-19

Sebastien Osigwe fight Covid-19

Super Eagles newly-invited goalkeeper Sebastien Osigwe has tested positive for coronavirus.

The 26-year-old was handed his first call-up to the Super Eagles on Thursday to battle it out with Daniel Akpeyi and Maduka Okoye.

Osigwe, who is currently on the books of Lugano in the Swiss Super League will be disappointed to miss out on the Afcon qualifiers double-header against Sierra Leone.

Lugano confirmed that Sebastien Osigwe will be in isolation after he contracted the novel coronavirus.

“The management of FC Lugano announces that the tests carried out following the positivity of Mattia Bottani also highlighted the positivity of the goalkeeper Sebastian Osigwe.”

“Following the above and the reconstruction of the contacts at risk, the cantonal doctor has also decided to quarantine Jens Odgaard, Jonathan Sabbatini, Noam Baumann, and Marcis Oss, and this despite full compliance with the “COVID-19″ protection concept of the SFL for training and matches.

Osigwe has been in impressive form for Lugano in the Swiss Super League.

Nigeria will lock horns with Sierra Leone at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin on November 13.
