At the early hours of Tuesday morning, house of the Akoni Oodua of Yoruba land and Yoruba rights activist, Sunday Igboho, popularly called Igboho was reportedly gutted by a fire that razed the whole building.
Newsmen confirmed that the incident reportedly started around 3 am in the building located in the Soka area of Oyo State. They also confirmed that after a few hours, firefighters arrived the scene to put out the fire, yet the source of the fire unknown.
It is known that Sunday Igboho had given a 7-days ultimatum to the Fulani herdsmen in Ibarapa LGA, Oyo State to leave, which was ignored.

Punch Newspapers gathered that following the expiration of the ultimatum, he and his followers invaded the Fulani settlement in Igangan to eject Seriki Fulani, Salihu Abdukadir, and herdsmen accused of perpetrating crimes ranging from kidnappings, killings, rape to invasion of farmlands with their cattle. Some houses and property in the settlement of the Fulanis were torched but Igboho had distanced himself from the incident, saying aggrieved youths and residents of the town were responsible for the destruction.
Igboho having denied having a hand in the attack in the destruction of houses and property in the settlements described today’s incident as an act of retaliation.
