The joint action committee (JAC) of the Senior Staff Association of Universities (SSANU) and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities (NASU) has given a two weeks notice prior to their indefinite strike action to commence from February 5.
Spokesperson of the JAC, Peter Adeyemi, which made the announcement on Friday, stated that the FG has failed to settle their October 2020 agreement.
Still speaking, he also explained that the NASU is asking that there should be removed from the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information (IPPIS) and look into the sharing pattern of the universities earned allowances between non-teaching and teaching staff.
“Two weeks’ notice effective from today, Friday, January 22, 2021, is hereby given to the government and relevant stakeholders of this development’.
“But three months after, there has been no correction of these anomalies leading to a high level of restiveness among our members who have been short-changed on account of the problem caused by IPPIS,” he said.
