Sierra Leone Fight Back From 4-0 Down Against Nigeria

The Leone Stars of Sierra Leone did the unthinkable when they fought back from a 4-0 deficit to snatch a 4-4 draw against Nigeria at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.

The Super Eagles raced to a 4-0 lead before the half-hour mark courtesy of a brace by Alex Iwobi and a strike apiece from Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze to set the hosts on course for victory.

Kwame Quee reduced the deficit to make it 4-1 before the end of first half.

Al Hadji Kamara restored the visitors belief with another goal in the 72nd minute.

Victor Osimhen was stretchered off after sustaining a wrist injury, while Leon Balogun was replaced by Semi Ajayi due to a back complaint.

Mustapha Bundu scored the third goal with ten minutes to go.

Kamara completed the remarkable comeback with an 86th minute goal to earn a valuable point for Sierra Leone.

Sierra Leone will host Nigeria in the second kwg in Freetown on Tuesday.
