On his official Twitter page, Shehu Sani President of the Civil Rights Congress of Nigeria celebrated the Late Professor, Chinua Achebe.
Prof. Achebe was a notable literary genius in Nigeria, known for his popular novel, Things Fall Apart died on the 21st March 2013.
In his tweet, the senator praised the late novelist for the impact he had on Africa and stated that he would be forever remembered by Africans and the world at large.
“Today marks the eight anniversary of the death of Professor Chinua Achebe,one of the greatest literary giants from Africa.
Moreover, Shehu also praised the Governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom, on his escape from gunmen in Benue.
The Governor was on a visit to his farm before he was attacked by gunmen in Makurdi, the state’s capital and ran for about a kilometer and half to avoid capture.
“To run for one and half kilometers non stop is a record breaking sprint; Governor Ortom’s marathon skills, fitness and athletic talent is needed for survival in any bandit or terrorists infested state in our Country.I wish him God’s protection.” he said.
