Sanwo-Olu Has No Right To Suspend Transport Union – RTEAN

The National leadership of the Road Transport Employers’ Association of Nigeria has asked the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to unseal its Lagos State office, which he shut following the crisis in two out of the over 320 chapels of the association across the state.

The association’s Deputy National President, Abubakar Bishara, who said this via a statement on Sunday, maintained that the governor has no power to suspend the activities of any trade union, describing his action as unconstitutional.

Recall that Sanwo-Olu suspended the activities of the transport union last week after factional members of the association clashed in the Iyana Iba and Lagos Island areas of the state.
