Super Eagles Coach, Gernot Rohr has revealed that the door is open for Odion Ighalo to make a return to the Super Eagles.
Ighalo quit the team after scoring five goals to help Nigeria to a third place finish at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
“There’s no reason not to take him if he’s doing well. The question is if he wants to come back,” Rohr said on Goal.
“We hope so because he’s an experienced player. He can be very useful to his partners. We’re waiting but firstly he has to play.”
The 31-year-old recently joined Al Shabab after leaving Manchester United when his loan deal ended last month.
He went on to score 16 goals in 36 matches for Nigeria including winning the top scorer award at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations after scoring five goals.
