Real Madrid have announced that Sergio Ramos had left the club after failing to agree to a new contract.
The 35-year-old contract was due for renewal but both parties failed to agree on fresh terms.
Ramos struggled with injuries last season making a paltry 21 appearances in all competitions the lowest ever in his 16 years stay at at the Santiago Bernabeu.
“Real Madrid announces that on Thursday 17 June, at 12:30 pm, an act of tribute and farewell to our captain Sergio Ramos will be held, which will be attended by our president Florentino Perez.
“Sergio Ramos will then appear before the media in a virtual press conference.”
Sergio Ramos joined Real Madrid from Sevilla in 2005 and he made over 670 appearances for the club winning the La Liga five times and the Uefa Champions League four times.
