Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde met yesterday in Ibadan in order to resolve farmer-herder crisis.
Following the meeting, Makinde has categorically stated that the National Livestock Transformation Plan that was agreed upon by the two states in order to collaborate on the economy and security of the State, did not mean a wholesale implementation.
Stressing this further, he added that Oyo State would only be taking the aspect that is beneficial to them, as ranching remains a private business in Oyo State and should be carried out as such.
He added that his administration would not be providing land for free to private investors for ranching. This is coming following the farmer-herder crises that ensued at Igangan and Ibarapa area of Oyo State in February.
