Premier League: Werner Leads Chelsea Past Southampton

Chelsea recorded a 3-1 win over Southampton on Saturday at Stamford Bridge.

Chalobah opened the scoring for the hosts early in the game.

Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner first half goals were ruled out.

Chilwell fouled the lively Livramento to give Southampton a penalty, Ward-Prowse scored from the spot to make it 1-1.

Ward-Prowse was sent off for a dangerous foul on Jorginho.

Timo Werner scored the second goal for Chelsea from a cross by Azpilicueta.

Ben Chilwell’s effort was adjudged to have cross the line and was correctly awarded to help Chelsea earn a 3-1 win over Southampton.

Chelsea sit two points clear on top of the log as Manchester City and Liverpool slug it out on Sunday.
