Oyo State Will Not Increase IGR

Oyo State IGR Increases Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic.

Oyo State Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde made it known on the 7th of October 2020 that he would not add to the tax of the citizens just to improve the IGR of the state.

In accordance with his words, he has rapidly grown the state’s IGR by 26.4% during the Covid-19 pandemic. The statistics were reported by the National Bureau Statistics NBS 2020 reports.

According to him, the growth came to be without increasing the tax burden on citizens. He as well said that what he has done so far is to focus on competitive advantage.
