One Million Boys: IGP Orders Investigation On Portable’s Cultism Claim

The Inspector General of Police has requested that fast rising artiste, Habeeb Okikiola, fondly called Portable, should be investigated following his comment on being the founder of the notorious One Million boys, that disrupted Lagos State in 2020.

This was reportedly disclosed by the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, in a statement on Monday.

The statement read, “Sequel to the trending video of one Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable where he claimed to have formed the One-Million Boys cult group terrorising some parts of Lagos State, the IGP has ordered CP Lagos to investigate the indicting statement and take necessary legal action.”

It added, “This directive is premised on the continuous efforts of the Nigeria Police Force to fish out pillars and sponsors of cult groups in order to decimate their activities and restore sanity to our society.”

This is coming after the ‘Zazu Zeh’ crooner disclosed in a now deleted video on his official Instagram page that, “Open your ears and be listening. Have you heard of Ajah boys, one million boys? I established them.”

Following reactions from social media users, he deleted that video and posted a new one where he stated, “I was seated on my own when trouble came for me. When I said one million boys, I meant fans, not terrorists. Just the same way pastors have followers. I have followers; I am not a thief. I have people, don’t even try to come for me.”
