The Ugandan Police Force has arrested Nigerian artiste Stanley Omah Didia known as Omah Lay and Temilade Openiyi known as Tems for violating the Covid-19 protocols laid down in the country. Tems manager Muyiwa Awoniyi and Benjamin Kabura, the organizer of the event had also been arrested.
The PRO of the Kampala Metropolitan Police and Superintendent of People Patrick Onyango said that they were arrested with other three policemen for conniving with the organizers of the event to break the law.
Omah Lay and his team held a concert that was organised by Benjamin Kabura at the Ddungu Resort Munyononyo in Kampala on Saturday night.
The event manager Prim Lasagna and also the owner of the resort Ivan Ddungu were also arrested.
The PRO said they were all arrested for violating the Covid-19 protocols laid down by the Ministry of Health against the spread of the virus.
Omah Lay has however confirmed this to be true and has assured his fans that he is in safe hands.
