Nigeria Beat Cape Verde In World Cup Qualifier

Nigeria defeated Cape Verde 2-1 in Mindelo to make it two wins on the bounce.

The Super Eagles defeated Liberia 2-0 in Lagos on Friday thanks to a brace from Kelechi Iheanacho.

Cape Verde stunned Nigeria early in the game with a superb finish by Dylan Tavares before Osimhen equalised for Nigeria just before halftime.

Kenny Rocha scored an own goal to wrap up the win for Nigeria.

Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa made his 100th appearance for Nigeria.

He started the match before he was replaced by Henry Onyekuru in the 72nd minutes.

The likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, Wilfred Ndidi and other UK based players did not travel for the match due to the restrictions by the UK government.
