Troops of the Nigerian Airforce have killed not less than 30 bandits at the Maje Riverline near Yar Katsina, Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
A quick response came from the force following reports of the presence of armed bandits, along with livestock, who were spotted heading towards Kekuwuje-Yar Kastina Road.
The troops attacked the armed bandits along the Yar Katsina Road and overpowered them in an exchange of gunfire, and eventually pursued and cornered them at the Maje Riverline, killing 30 of them.
It was on this account that a brave NAF SF personnel, Aircraftman Sunday Enwa, lost his life, while 3 others sustained bullet injuries and are receiving treatment.
Following the incident, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, has come out on behalf all officers, airmen, airwomen and civilian staff of the NAF, to commiserate with the family of the deceased, praying for eternal rest to the soul of the hero.
Speaking further, he also urged all NAF personnel to remain committed to work, and in cooperation with sister Services and other security agencies, to rid the Northwest of all criminal threats.
