Mane, Firmino On Target As Liverpool Beat Tottenham

Liverpool recorded an impressive 3-1 win over Tottenham to bounce back from their recent poor form.

The Reds failed to win their last five league matches drawing blank in four of those games.

Roberto Firmino ended Liverpool’s mini drought in the league with the opening goal just before halftime when he took advantage of the mix-up between Hugo Lloris and Eric Dier to fire home.

Trent Alexander-Arnold quickly added the second goal just after the restart to increase Liverpool’s lead.

Tottenham striker, Harry Kane was unable to continue in the second half after he sustained an ankle injury.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg scored a 20-yard stunner to give Tottenham some glimmer of hope but Saido Mane put paid to any chances of a fightback with the third goal.

Salah’s goal was ruled out by VAR for handball against Firmino in the build up.

Liverpool are now four points behind Manchester City having played a game more.

Tottenham have won two of their last eight games and they have found themselves in the sixth position four points off the top four.
