Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde has ordered the reopening of Shasha market in Oyo state after it was shut down as a result of ethnic clashes among market traders.
The Governor had earlier revealed that the market would mot be reopened, except the traders promised to cohabit peacefully.
However, after meeting with leaders and stakeholders of Shasha community, he made it known that the continual closure of the market has economic implications and ordered Shasha market to be opened.
He also admonished both ethnic groups to restore their previous amicable relationship, and also distributed palliatives to affected traders.
