Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has made it known that he met with the Canadian High Commissioner to Nigeria Nicholas Simard and had discussed with him the four pillars of his administration- education, health care, economy and security.
According to him, they talked about gender equality and the Violence Against Persons Prohibition bill recently signed into law. He outlined how his administration would give a fair hearing to victims of violence so that the culprits can be prosecuted.
Talking about the youth sector, Makinde said that the EndSARS protest was a wake-up call to ensure that resources are channelled toward the protection and development of the young people. He made it known that a judicial panel has been set up for victims of brutality and also funds for entrepreneurs had been put in place.
