Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has expressed his disappointment after the Blues lost 1-0 to Everton on Saturday.
Everton earned a 1-0 win over Chelsea courtesy of a goal by Sigurdsson from the spot after Mendy has fouled Calvert Lewin.
“I think we could have got something out of the game but I wouldn’t say we were unlucky because it is football and I don’t think we peppered their goal with great opportunities”.
“We had opportunities that you mentioned [James and Mount hitting the post] that could get you at least a point but we weren’t at our best tonight”.
“We have been on a really good run and we knew what was coming with Everton with the physicality and in the early part of the game”.
“We didn’t deal with that well. Once you go 1-0 down, you give yourself a problem and something to hang onto”.
“The game went like that and we didn’t do enough to break them down”.
Chelsea were without Hakim Ziyech, Calum Hudson Odoi and Christian Pulisic and they lacked firepower against the Toffees.
