Football Legend Pele has showered encomiums on Lionel Messi after the Barcelona captain equalled his goals record for a single club against Valencia.
Messi scored Barcelona’s first goal against Valencia in a 2-2 draw to equal Pele’s record of scoring 643 goals for a single club, which the Brazilian legend scored for Santos.
“Like you, I know what it’s like to love wearing the same shirt everyday.
“Like you, I know that there is nothing better than the place we feel at home. Congratulations on your historic record, Lionel. But above all, congratulations on your beautiful career at Barcelona” said Pele.
Lionel Messi will have a chance to make the record his own when next he is on target for Barcelona.
