Kogi State Polytechnic Expels 34 Students For Cultism And Related Offences

The management of the Kogi State Polytechnic has ordered the immediate expulsion of about 34 students, for involving themselves in different related offences ranging from examination malpractices to certificate forgery and cultism.

The board members made it known that the expelled students, were from different departments of the institution. They said that some of the students were part of the “Examination Magic Centre” syndicate that was exposed at Sarkin Noma area in Lokoja metropolis. The committee reported that Ibrahim Ayatu, an HND II student of the Department of Accountancy and one Clement Ayeni Clement, an ex-student of the polytechnic set up the ‘Examination Magic Centre‘.

Following this offence, Ayatu had been expelled from the institution, while Ayeni had been banned from entering the polytechnic until further notice.

In addition, one of the students and staff of the polytechnic, Mr Ekele Hassan was expelled for being caught with an already answered booklet.

  Alih Kemalu and Isah Habib from the Department of Public Administration has also been expelled for being cultists.
