Kaduna Police Rescue 15 Kidnapped Individuals

Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner for Home Affairs and Internal Security, Kaduna has announced based on a report by the State’s Police Command the rescue of fifteen individuals kidnapped in Kaduna State.

The rescue operation as carried out and reported by the Kaduna State Police Command involved three abducted women resumed in Rijiya Uku general area of Chikun L.G.A. and 12 persons rescued in Bukuru forest of the same L.G.A on April 3, 2021

Based on the police report, the three women were rescued via a tip-off on April 1, 2021 after been abducted on the November 18, 2020 by armed bandits in a village of a neighbouring state.

The bandits had occasionally moved the three women identified as Ladi Nuhu, Laraba Yusuf and Justina Ayuba in order to avoid capture from security forces.

Police officers exchanged fire with the bandits who later fled and abadoned the women to avoid capture.

Meanwhile, the 12 other individuals were rescued at Bukuru forest during a routine patrol along the area with the criminals also fleeing the scene to avoid capture.

The individuals were identified as, Bashar Buhari, Surajo Attahiru, Hassan Adamu, Falalu Yusuf, Sunusi Aminu, Shamsiya Sunusi, Adamu Sani, Suleiman Bahajetu, Salabi Mohammed alongside an unidentified toddler and two unidentified males.

The Governor of the state, Nasir El-Rufai, commended the security personnel involved in the rescue, the entirety of the State’s Police Command and welcomed the 15 rescued individuals.
