Following Sunday Igboho’s chase of the killer Fulani herdsman in Ibarapa area of Oyo State, the Inspector General of police had ordered his arrest, following a directive from the Federal Government.
However renowned human rights activist Femi Fani Kayode popularly called FFK had made it known that it would be dangerous for the Federal Government to order the arrest or killing of Sunday Igboho. According to FFK, when the Northern youths insisted that the Igbos should leave the North, no one was arrested. He asked that why should igboho be arrested for asking killer Fulani herdsman to vacate South West.
Fani Kayode had also advised the FG to tread softly as Igboho has the full support of the Yoruba nation. He stressed that the way to solve the problem was to arrest the killer herdsmen that kill and kidnap people in the South West, and not those standing up to speak for the victim.
He commended Igboho’s courage to rise up against wickedness, Injustice and apartheid in the land, when other Yoruba leaders were too timid to do so.
