Hijrah: Oyo State Declare August 10 As Public Holiday

It has been reported that the Oyo State Government has announced Tuesday, Aug. 10, as public holiday to commemorate the new Islamic year – Hijrah 1443 AH.

This was disclosed in a circular signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mrs Olubamiwo Adeosun, in Ibadan on Friday.

According to the statement, Governor Seyi Makinde, enjoined Muslims and people of other religions to use the holiday to pray for the peace, unity and growth of the state and the country.
