Supporters of Sunday Igboho have raised about £31,470(N16.4m) through a GoFundMe to support his struggle against the killer herdsmen in the South West.
According to reports, a quote on the account read that, “They need buses to move around to secure our ancestral land. Our security is threatened as we speak. seems people in a position of authority are helpless”.
Following a virtual meeting held last week by some Yorubas’ both in the country and in the diaspora with the Yoruba activist on ways to tackle insecurity issues support, a participant of the meeting Maureen Badejo created the Gofundme account, which has recorded donations from Yoruba people in the diaspora, to help purchase buses to assist Igboho.
The target of the fund being raised is N52.3m and the Yorubas‘in diaspora had been seriously contributing their quota to keep the fight on.
