Chief Registrar of the Katsina State High Court, Kabir Shua’ibu, has in an interview with newsmen on Sunday, January 10 2021, confirmed that the Governor of the state, Aminu Masari, has signed the Child Protection Bill into law.
The State’s House of Assembly passed the bill into law on 25th November 2020, and on 29th December 2020, the Governor reportedly approved the bill.
In a statement after the bill was passed into law, Deputy Speaker of the House, Shehu Tafoki, from Faskari Constituency, thanked lawmakers for the passage of the bill and expressed his joy at the new development as he said:
“I feel happy and elated as being the chairman of the committee that worked on the bill and which it was eventually passed into law. The passage of the bill means better future and robust protection for children in the state.”
