Chief Oliver Sunday Akanite popularly known as Oliver De Coque was a Nigerian guitarist and one of Africa’s top highlife artists.
Oliver De Coque was born on April 14, 1947 and hails from Ezinifite, Nnewi South, Anambra State. He died on June 20, 2008 at the age of 61.
He was a singer, songwriter, record producer, lead guitarist during the period of 1965–2008 and had a record label – Olumo Records Nigeria Limited.
Some of his songs include: Father Father, People’s club Club. His albums include: Biri Ka Mbiri (2014), Nwa Bu Nwa (2020), Nnata (2020), Engirigbo (2014).
His legacy will live on.
