FG Fulfils Promise, Pays ASUU N40 Billion

Following the suspension of ASUU strike and the promise made by the Federal Government to pay up their arrears, the Academic Staff Union Of Universities ASUU had revealed that the Federal Government had paid the sum of N40 Billion to them for their earned academic allowance.

According to the body, earned allowance was also inclusive for non-teaching staffs. The body also made it known that the government may release the N30 Billion revitalization funds to Universities at the end of the month.

ASUU revealed that about N10 Billion was voted for the payment of Senior Staff Association Of Nigerian Universities (SANU), Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and technologists.

The Minister for Labour and Employment Dr Chris Ngige had said that the Federal Government had kept their promise to ASUU.
