In the spirit of the festive season, the Federal Government has declared Monday, 27th, Tuesday 28th December, and January 3rd, 2022 as public holidays for Christmas, Boxing and New Year’s day celebrations.
This was reportedly disclosed by the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Shuaib Belgore, on Wednesday.
Aregbesola stated that, “We must emulate the life of Jesus Christ in His practice and teachings on Humility, Service, Compassion, Patience, Peace and Righteousness, that His birth signifies.”
He noted that, “This will be the best way to portray Christ and celebrate his birth.”
Meanwhile, the Minister enjoined Nigerians to, “Moderately celebrate the festival without large groupings and observe all the protocols stipulated by medical authorities. Take it as a point of personal responsibility to prevent the spread of the virus.” https://twitter.com/MobilePunch/status/1473594434935734274?t=xYFLKZe7k-1tl1KpSrPUBw&s=19
