Europa League: Manchester United Spank Real Sociedad, Benfica Held Arsenal


The Europa League returned with a cracker with high-scoring games in the round of 32.

Manchester United recorded an emphatic 4-0 win over Real Sociedad in Turin.

Arsenal played out a 1-1 draw with Benfica thanks to a leveller from Bukayo Saka.

Afonso Fernandes opened the scoring for Benfica from the spot just after the break.

Saka restored parity for Arsenal two minutes later ensure a share of the spoils.

Aubameyang had a game to forget as he missed a lot of scoring chances.

Gareth Bale was on target for Tottenham to help them to a 4-1 victory over Wolfsberg.

Lucas Moura, Son Heung-Min and Carlos Vinicius completed the rout to give Tottenham a commanding first half advantage.

AC Milan played out a 2-2 draw against Red Star Belgrade.

Milan Pavkov scored a last-minute equaliser to deny AC Milan a first leg win.

Ajax defeated Lille 2-1 in France, while Bayer Leverkusen won 4-3 against Young Boys.

PSV earned a 4-2 victory over Olympiakos, Rangers snatched a late 4-3 victory against Royal Antwerp.

AS Roma got the better of Braga 2-0, while Granada defeated Napoli 2-0.

The second leg will take place on Thursday, February 25.
