Founder of Tesla Inc. and SpaceX, Elon Musk, has beat Amazon’s Jeff Bezos the richest person on earth.
Tesla inc has its focus on electric cars while, SpaceX deals with space work, especially his current dream of building a base on Mars and the moon.
The 49 years old entrepreneur’s net worth was $188.5 billion at 10.15 am today, $1.5b more than Jeff. His sudden spring in net worth occurred after an increase in the share price of his electric car company, Tesla inc.
Amazon’s entrepreneur had held the top spot of the world’s 500 richest men since October 2017. But it is speculated that Jeff’s divorce with MacKenzie Scott, which cost him One-quarter of his Amazon precedes and the shares he donated in November 2020 led to his drop.
When asked by a bbc reporter what his key to success, here are his replies:
It isn’t about the money.
He said he didn’t know how rich he was.
“It’s not as if there is a pile of cash somewhere,” he said. “It’s really just that I have a certain number of votes in Tesla, and SpaceX, and SolarCity, and the marketplace has value on those votes.”
He is not against the pursuit of wealth but that’s not what drives him “if it’s done in sort of an ethical and good manner”, he said.
Pursue your Passion.
He believes his key driver to success is his Mars base project.
“I want to be able to contribute as much as possible to the city on Mars,” Musk said. “That means just a lot of capital,” he said.
“You want things in the future to be better,” he told me. “You want these new exciting things that make life better.”
