Ekiti State Government Builds Home For Women

Following the commemoration of women and the fight against gender-based violence, Ekiti State Governor, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi together with the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs Sadiya Farouq had commissioned the 208-bed Ultra Modern Transit Home and Skill Development Centre for women and girls in Ekiti State.

The Minister said that the home contains an administrative block, creche, a clinic, a 250 seater conference Hall and well-equipped acquisition centres to provide succour for GBV victims in the State.

Governor Fayemi further promised that he would continue to partner with the Federal Government to curb gender-based violence across the country. He said the commissioning was part of the activities marking the 16 days of activism against gender-based violence.
