Edo State: 103 New Cases and 3 deaths in 72 hours from COVID-19.

One hundred and three new cases and three deaths from COVID-19 have been recorded in Edo State in the last 72 hours during the pandemic’s second wave.

The information was divulged by Dr. Andrew Obi, Edo State Incident Manager on COVID-19 in a virtual meeting with Edo State’s COVID-19 Task Force on Monday.

Dr. Obi revealed that Edo State has also recorded the recovery of 60 infected people and the infection of six more health workers.

“We also recorded six more health workers infection with 835 active cases who are currently being treated at various treatment and isolation centres in the state.

“With the new health workers infection, we now have a total of 383 health workers that have been infected with the virus since Dec 1, 2020,

“When the state started tracking the second wave of the pandemic surpassing 381 health workers infection recorded throughout the first wave,” Dr. Obi stated.

He added that the government would do everything in its power to curtail the spread of the pandemic during its second wave by enforcing the use of face masks as well as other safety guidelines.

He pressed on that civilians should try to help the government in ending the pandemic’s toll in the state by adhering to the safety guidelines by the government.
