Following the hike in Covid-19 cases across the world and the fear of the second wave, the government of Zimbabwe has returned to a full lockdown starting from the 5th of January, 2021.
This was confirmed by the Health Minister of the country, Constatino Chiwega, following the hike in COVID-19 cases which has reached over 14 thousand.
In the past months, Zimbabwe has confirmed exactly 369 COVID-19 related deaths.
However, citizens have complained that another total lockdown would be another level of hardship, as Covid-19 relief funds are not available.
