Covid-19: Schools Resumption Date Remains January 18th – PTF

Following the report from the Minister of Education Adamu Adamu on Monday 11th January, that the Federal Government would review 18th of January which was earlier slated for the resumption of schools across the country, the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, had made it known on Tuesday that schools in the country will still resume on January 18 except the Education Ministry gives a different directive.

The Minister earlier said this following the hike in Covid-19 cases across the country. Dr  Sani Aliyu who is the PTF National Coordinator had said that the minister did not say the date has been changed.

According to Aliyu, “As regards schools, I just want to make a clarification, what the minister said yesterday was that they were going to review, he didn’t say that they were going to change the date. He said they will review the situation and let the nation know”.

Stressing this further, he said, “So, for the moment, it is still 18th January until the ministry of education comes back either with an alternative date or reconfirm that.”
