#Covid-19: Other Generals Contracts Virus Following General Irefin’s Death

 Following the death of Late General Irefin, about 26 other Army generals have contracted the Covid-19 virus.

The Late General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division, fell ill last week while attending the 2020 Chief of Army Staff Conference in Abuja.

He was immediately rushed  to a military hospital where he eventually died due to complications of COVID-19 infection.

According to reports, the late General was said to have visited close associates prior to the conference.

Reports from Channels TV had it that the acting Director of Army Public Relations, Brigadier General Sagir Musa, had also made it known that a total of 417 personnel have been tested and 26 confirmed positive cases as of Sunday.

According to the PRO, all those who were present at the conference are already in self-isolation no matter the outcome of their test results.

The Secretary to the Federal Government and chairman of the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19 control Boss Mustapha and his wife Olu had also gone into self-isolation.
