The Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) has advised all healthcare practitioners that while going about healthcare activities, they should see everyone as a suspected coronavirus disease case.
This call was made in a public health message by the chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the association, Dr. Adetunji Adenekan, where he addressed all healthcare workers in Lagos. He cautioned health workers to be careful, as there is an increasing number of covid-19 infections amongst health care workers following the second wave of the pandemic.
Adenekan expressed that events of the last few weeks in which cherished members of the association have been lost to the viral infection have left shock on the lips of its members and have totally been unplanned for.
He, notwithstanding, made an appeal to Lagos NMA members and frontline healthcare workers to not only adhere to covid-19 guidelines while in public but to also to take responsibility of their health and well-being by seeking medical attention when they perceive symptoms of the virus.
