Covid-19: Citizens Should Still Adhere To Safety Protocols – State Governments

A number of States have laid complaints about citizens not adhering to the Covid-19 protocols, which had led to the hike in the number of Covid-19 cases.

According to reports, Bauchi, Edo, Osun,Oyo, Zamfara and Cross River States have expressed frustration at the poor compliance with COVID-19 safety protocols by their people.

The State Governments said non-compliance had led to the increased number of COVID-19 cases recorded by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The AstraZeneca Covid-19 Vaccine arrived into Nigeria on the 2nd of March and The President, Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, had taken the vaccine.

The complaints were laid when the President, Muhammadu Buhari, and the Vice-President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, received their  COVID-19 vaccine shots on Saturday in Abuja.

The different state governments has cautioned the citizens  to adhere to laid down protocols, due to the recording of new infections. They have warned their citizens against relaxing COVID-19 safety protocols, just because the vaccine was available.

 Citizens are enjoined to wear their face masks, use of hand sanitisers, regular hand washing and social distancing.
