Following the release of students of the Government Secondary School in Jangebe in Zamfara State on Friday, there has been controversy on their release.
It was earlier reported on Sunday that the abducted schoolgirls have been released and were at the palace of the Emir of Anka, waiting to be transported to Gusau, the state capital.
It has however, been reported by The Punch newspaper that the state Commissioner for Information and Culture, Suleiman Tunau Anka, made it known in a tweet on Sunday afternoon that the students are yet to be released.
He has admonished people to stop spreading the news of the girls being released. According to him.
“It’s not true. But, the state government and securities are trying their best”.
