Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has extended resumption of civil servants on Grade Levels 14 and below to February 1, 2021. He gave reason to be the spring of the increasing spread of the second wave of coronavirus in the state, as the stages take the lead in infection rate.
Sanwo-Olu said the directive excluded essential duty officers, while grade 14 civil servants and below will maintain the ‘work at home’ protocol till February 1. He, however, call on all public servants to follow all Covid-19 guidelines and stay safe to ensure that the virus is eliminated from the state as quickly as possible.
The directive was contained in a circular captioned “Re: Stemming the tide of the second wave of COVID-19 – Extension of the Work from home directive,” was delivered to members of the State Executive Council (SEC) and all heads of ministries, departments and agencies by Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, the Head of Service.
The circular directived that all Essential Duty Staff, as well as First Responders. Other directives include strict compliance to physical and social distancing.
