Buhari Mourns Late Soun Of Ogbomoso

Following the death of the Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi, President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly stated that the 48-year reign of the deceased has reinforced Ogbomoso’s status as a land of peace.

He reportedly made this known in a statement through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina.

The statement reportedly disclosed that, the President condoled with the Government and people of Oyo State and especially the indigenes of Ogbomosoland on the demise of the frontline traditional ruler who reigned for 48 years.

The statement read further that Oba Oyewumi’s reign reinforced Ogbomoso as a land of peace, accommodation and a bastion of history and tradition.

The President reportedly added that the deceased monarch will forever be remembered for his counsel and commitment to the unity and harmony within their ranks.

The President also urged sons and daughters of Ogbomosoland to be consoled with the fact that Oba Oyewumi accentuated his reign with the development and progress of the community through enduring peace and extension of hands of fellowship to peoples of other lands.

Meanwhile, the late monarch reportedly died on the 12th of December, 2021 at the age of 95, and has been buried immediately according to the Muslim rites.
