Tottenham have confirmed the sacking of their head coach, Jose Mourinho on Monday morning following a run of poor performances in the Premier League.
The former Chelsea manager replaced Mauricio Pocchetino in November 2019 and he has been unable to meet the club’s target of a top-four finish.
Mourinho will be replaced by Ryan Mason temporarily until the end of the season, his first match will be against Manchester City in the League Cup final on Sunday.
Chairman Daniel Levy said: “Jose and his coaching staff have been with us through some of our most challenging times as a Club. Jose is a true professional who showed enormous resilience during the pandemic.
“On a personal level, I have enjoyed working with him and regret that things have not worked out as we both had envisaged.
