ASUU: It’ll Take Hard Decisions To End The Strike – JAMB Boss

Following the lingering Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU strike, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede has stated that it would take hard decisions for the strike issue to be solved permanently.

Oloyede disclosed this on Saturday while on a tour to centres where the mop-up UTME were being held.

He stated that, “I appeal to ASUU, I appeal to government, please solve the problem so our children can go back to school.”

He added that, “Even if ASUU goes back to the classroom, that will not prevent it from happening tomorrow. I believe that what we should do is to look at the system. And take some very hard decisions.”

He emphasized, “If we do not take hard decisions, we are postponing the evil day.”

Meanwhile, the academic body had been on strike since on the 14th of February, 2022, and effort to resolve the issues the striking body had with the Federal Government had ended in futility.

The striking body added four weeks to the strike last week Monday, noting that they were giving the Federal Government more time to resolve the issue.
